The strongest passport in the world is Ireland, according to data from the Nomad Passport Index 2025, released by Nomad Capitalist. In practice, this means that travelers with this passport have greater possibility of entering several countries and better stay conditions. The Brazilian document is among the 5 strongest in the world.
According to the study, changes in global mobility, taxation and international perception generated this year’s outcome.
Ireland resumed first place in this last edition, surpassing Switzerland in a continuous dispute to see who offers the best document for its citizens.

Greece, on the other hand, had one of the best performances of the year, rising four positions and drawing second with Switzerland. The survey points out that the growing prominence in discussions on European Union’s migration, investment and tax (EU), along with the expansion and simplification of its tax incentive programs, significantly increased the appeal among global citizens in relation to Greece in the period.
Portugal, Malta and Italy complete the top 5, especially the rise of the Mediterranean country of 14th place last year to the 5th in this edition and divides the position with Italy. This happened due to the renewed interest in its non-domiciliary tax regime.

THE Passport of Brazilin turn, it was 43rd place, tied with Argentina.

Remember that the index is calculated based on Five factors:
- trips without visa,
- tax system,
- international perception,
- possibility of maintaining double citizenship,
- Freedom (individual, press, military service, among others).
From these data, each country receives a score between 10 and 50 points, and the unfulfilled travel criterion has the highest weight in the evaluation.
