On Reddit, user Quickerson recently shared a reminder to clean the PlayStation 5 again. As motivation, the user shared a photo of his own console, which had accumulated a considerable amount of dust:

Even if you take good care of the outside of the console, keep it clean and leave it open, dust can accumulate in it over the years – especially in the fan.
We don’t want to scare you with this statement, but rather point out how easy and practical a small dust removal operation can be. You don’t have to buy expensive equipment or laboriously tinker with the device. With a clean microfiber cloth and a vacuum cleaner (possibly with a cleaning attachment) you already have everything you need.

A clean fan contributes to the longevity of the console
These cleaning activities are particularly important for your fan. This is where dirt and dust accumulates most quickly, which in the worst case can clog it, so that its cooling performance decreases and is no longer sufficient. This can in turn shorten the lifespan of your console.
That’s why we recommend that you clean your PS5 regularly. How often you should do this depends on how dusty the area around them is. However, if your console is becoming louder than usual when in use, it could be an indication that it could use a cleaning.
