IR exemption to 2 minimum wages generates resignation of R $ 3.29 billion

The expansion of the exemption from the exemption from the income tax of individuals to two minimum wages (R $ 3,036.00), confirmed by provisional measure published on Monday (14), generates a tax waiver of R $ 3.29 billion this year, said the Ministry of Finance with estimates of the IRS. The impact will be R $ 5.34 billion in 2026 and R $ 5.73 billion in 2027.

The farm stressed that the value of the first range of the progressive table increased to R $ 2,428.80 which, added to the simplified discount of R $ 607.20, ensures that no income up to two minimum monthly salaries is taxed from May.

“This benefit will be enjoyed by all Brazilians, even those of the highest income, who will have a reduction in the amount of tax to be collected,” said the folder.

The Ministry also noted that the fiscal impact will be lower in 2025 because the measure will only come into force in May and, therefore, will not have reflections on the collection of the first quarter.

“The next step will be the approval of PL 1,087/2025, ensuring the exemption for income up to R $ 5,000 and the reduction of tax for rents up to R $ 7 thousand,” concluded the folder in reference to the renovation project already sent to Congress.
