Fernando Alonso has revealed its intentions at an event this Monday in collaboration with Cognizantofficial sponsor of Aston Martin. The Asturian driver has confessed what his true faithful can expect from a winner like him, and that is that the only ambition he has today and what pushes him to continue every day in the Formula 1 is to win another title. «In the next two or three years I want to win the third World», said the two-time world champion.
“This is my first and only priority right now,” he confirmed. Alonso renewed his contract with Aston Martin for two more years and in theory 2026 should be his last championship in F1. But knowing him, if he sees real options to fight for glory in 2027 and his level allows it, there is no doubt that the Spaniard would try again. He is now 43 years old and hopes that the Aston Martin project will bear fruit in the short term future.
“Not at the moment,” he first responded to the question of whether he was thinking about retiring. “I am very focused on F1 right now and I hope to win the third title in the next two or three years,” he said, receiving a spectacular ovation from those in attendance. «It is my first and only priority at the moment. After that, because I will be 45 or 46 years old, I think I could go to the Indy 500 and learn again, but it would be too much and I will have to look for other goals in life,” he added.
«I think my next big challenge could be Dakar. If I can win it it would be a great achievement for me personally because I could have won in F1, in the Endurance World Cup, Le Mans, Dayton…and if I can win in a rally it would also mean a lot to me as a driver,” he concluded about his ambitions, which are none other than that particular triple crown.
