The descent track to the northern coast of the Tamoios Highway was banned late Friday night, 4, due to excessive rainfall and the risk of falling barriers. Traffic is being diverted to the climbing track by Serra Nova, which started operating in a train.
According to the Tamoios dealership, the volume of rainfall exceeded the safety limit, which is 100mm in 72 hours.
With Operation Train, Serra Nova is operating in the stop and follows system, sometimes towards the coast, sometimes towards São José dos Campos, according to the concessionaire.

The formation of the trains is accompanied by the Military Highway Police and by teams of the concessionaire. By the end of the morning, there was no forecast to release the clues of the old mountain range.
The trains operate with different shapes. In the sense of São José dos Campos, all vehicles go up together.
Already in the direction of Caraguatatuba and Coastal, for safety reasons, the trains are performed separately, by vehicle category. First descend the passenger vehicles, then the cargo and last vehicles with hazardous products.
