Diljit who is playing the role of Nirmaljit Singh Sekhon, he was born in Eswal, a small village in Ludhiana district of Punjab. In the Indo-Pak war of 1971, the only Paramveer Chakra winner of the Air Force had chewed the enemy country in the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
He killed two of Pakistan’s six F-86 Sebers fighter jets, showing indomitable valor and courage, while the rest was drove back. Unfortunately, his aircraft was also hit by the attack and he was martyred.

He started his engineering studies, but left in just one and a half years. He had only one thing, whether he was in the defense. Pakistan’s 6 Sebar jet aircraft suddenly attacked The 1971 Indo-Pakistan war started with the internal problem of Pakistan. The threat of Pakistani attacks on India’s important defense bases had increased after the beginning of the Indo-Pakistan War on 3 December 1971. On 14 December 1971, Srinagar Airfield was suddenly attacked by 6 Pakistan’s Jet aircraft. Flying officer Nirmaljit Singh was stationed here with 18 net squadron while taking charge of the security contingent. The enemy came with F-86 Seber jet planes. Flying lieutenant Ghumman was also present with Nirmaljeet at that time.
Nirmal decided to fly without order At 8.2 am received warnings that the enemy is about to attack. Nirmaljit Singh and Ghumman indicated to fly from the enemies to take on the iron and waited for the answer. When no response was received for some time, Nirmaljit Singh decided to fly without order. At 8:45, both Air Force officials were in the sky to face the enemy. At that time, Pakistan’s first F-86 Seber was preparing to dives on Jet Air Field. Ghumman’s ship left the run before the air field. After this, as soon as Nirmaljit Singh’s jet blew up, a bomb fell right behind him. Ghumman was chasing a seber jet at that time. Sekhon came into the air and faced 2 Pakistani aircraft, one of them was there, which dropped the bomb on the airfield.
I am behind 2 Seber jet ships … I will not let them go After the bomb fell, the contact with the Air Field was broken by the Combat Air Petrol Nirmaljit Singh and Ghumman. All the airfields were filled with smoke and dust due to the bomb fall. It was very difficult to see far away due to smoke and dust. Then the flight commander Squadron Leader Pathania appeared that some 2 airplanes are preparing for the attack. Ghumman also tried to reach there to help Nirmaljit Singh, but this could not be possible. Then the voice of Nirmaljit Singh was heard from the radio communication system … ‘I am behind 2 Seber jet ships … I will not let them go…. A few moments later, the sound of the attack was heard from the jet and on seeing this, a Sabber of the Pakistani army was seen falling in the fire. Then Nirmaljit Singh Sekhon once again broadcast his message-

I am on the match and I am enjoying it. The enemy has 2 seibers jets around me. I am following one, the other is walking with me.
Veeragati received by chasing enemy ships In response to this message, Squadron Leader Pathania gave some security instructions to Nirmaljit Singh, which he had already completed. This was followed by another explosion from the jet, with the sound of the enemy’s collapse of the enemy’s seber jet. Right now Nirmaljit Singh was yet to do something else, he was targeted again and with a big blast, the other sebar jet was also piled up. After some time peace, the message of flying officer Nirmaljit Singh Sekhon was again heard. He said-

Perhaps my jet has also come on target… Ghumman, now you handle the front.
This was the last message of Nirmaljit Singh. While achieving his goal, Nirmaljit Singh Sekhon Veeragati was attained by chasing the Pakistani attackers from the Indian border.
The only soldiers of the Air Force to receive the Paramveer Chakra honor Pakistan finally suffered losses of this war in 1971 and faced defeat at the end of the war. In this war, the Government of India honored 3 more mighty warriors with Paramveer Chakra with flying officer Nirmaljit Singh Sekhon. However, in the fighters who received the Paramveer Chakra in any War of the Air Force, only Nirmaljit Singh Sekhon’s name was written.

After just six months of marriage, the country sacrificed Nirmaljit Singh Sekhon’s grandfather Bachan Singh was in the British Army and father Trilok Singh was a flight lieutenant in the Air Force. Sekhon studied up to tenth in village Mohi, then went to Kanpur and took training in Air Force. their wedding Manjit was with Kaur.
