Between 1950 and 1970, the voices of Lata Mangeshkar and Mohammad Rafi were heard everywhere. His own songs used to run on every radio, their nagas used to echo in every Mahfil, but in the same period there were another singer who had simplicity in his voice, pain and a lot of feelings. His name was Mubarak Begum. Who sang hit songs in many films, but later spent life in oblivion.
Mubarak Begum started singing for All India Radio in childhood. In 1949, he sang for the first time in the film ‘IA’. In this film, he sang “Mohe Aana started Angadai, Aaja Aaja”. In this film, he also sang a song “Aao Chale Sakhi there” with Lata Mangeshkar.
Mubarak Begum sang several famous songs in the 1950s and 1960s. In 1955, his song “Woh Naa Aaye Balatkar” in the film ‘Devdas’ became very famous. In the 1958 film ‘Madhumati’, he sang “Hum Hal-e-Dil Sunge”. In 1961, the song “Kabhi Tanhaiye Mein Yun, Hamari Yaad Meh” became his most famous song. After this, he gave hit songs like “Lo Hago Lo Lo Lo” in Hamrahi and “Sleep Ud Jaye Teri” in the film ‘Juari’.

Mubarak Begum was born on 5 January 1936 in Sujangarh, Rajasthan.
Let me tell you that Mubarak Begum sang more than 170 songs in about 110 films. He had sweetness in his voice, but he did not get that much support from the film industry. Then gradually they stopped getting work.
After 1970, Mubarak Begum got away from films, but remained their love for music. With increasing age, his health deteriorated and the financial condition of the family also deteriorated. He also had to live with his son, daughter -in -law and granddaughter in a small one -room house in Behram Bagh in Jogeshwari, Mumbai.
At one time, his only income was a pension from his late husband’s job. At the same time, his son Hussain Sheikh used to earn something by working as a driver. While he was looked after by his daughter -in -law Zarina Hussain Sheikh.

At one time, the situation became so bad, Mubarak Begum’s hospital became difficult to bear the expenses, then the family had to ask for help.
Mubarak Begum’s daughter -in -law Zarina told the media that actor Salman Khan was the only person in the Hindi film industry who had been continuously helping the family for a long time. He had spent all the medicines of Mubarak Begum.

In June 2016, the then Minister of Maharashtra government Vinod Tawde also extended his hand for help. Although he could not get the family money under the government scheme, he provided assistance from a trust being run by people close to him, which gave some financial relief to Mubarak. Then he died on 18 July 2016 at the age of 80.
