  1. Sing songs promoting violence: ASI Surendra Singh has sent a complaint to Police Station-11 from the police post of Sector-24, in which singer Masoom Sharma has been accused of disregarding government orders. According to the police, a live stage show took place on 28 March 2025 at UIET located in Sector-25. In this, innocent Sharma sang songs which were going to promote violence.
  2. Chambal’s robber sang: Police said that before the show, the singer had given a written assurance that he would not sing any banned or controversial song. Despite this, during the program, he sang these lines from the stage- “All these are sitting, my Galliyan Gadi Main, Koe Sant-Mahatma Koni Rai, Chambal Ke Dakar Sain”.
  3. DC’s orders violated: The complaint further states that the lyrics of this song clearly spread violence. The complaint also mentions that Chandigarh DC had given clear instructions for not singing such songs before the show, which promotes violence, alcohol, intoxication or crime. Disregarding these orders, innocent Sharma sang the song, which led to a crime under Section 223 BNS.

Student dies during the show Student Aditya Thakur was killed during Masoom Sharma’s show. The police arrested 4 accused in this case. In police interrogation, the accused said that the crowd was very high. When they started going out after watching the concert, the crowd caused some students and a slight clash. The accused then quarreled with the student and his associates near Boys Hostel No-8. Meanwhile, the accused stabbed the student’s back, while another student stabbed the right leg. After this, all the accused fled from there.

Petition was filed in High Court The case of Masoom Sharma’s show also reached Punjab and Haryana High Court. An advocate had filed a petition stating that the High Court in a decision in 2019 ordered the DGP of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh to ban the songs promoting violence, obscenity and weapons.

Advocate further said that contempt of court order was sung by arms and violence that were sung during the show at Punjab University. On this, the High Court issued a notice to the DGP, DC and PU Dean Student Welfare (DSW) of Chandigarh seeking a reply.

A total of 14 songs have been banned so far Singer Masoom Sharma’s 14 songs have been banned so far. Of these, 4 songs were removed from YouTube this month. In the review meeting of the Law and Order held in Karnal in February 2025, CM Naib Saini gave strict instructions to keep strict monitoring on such songs that promote gun culture, drugs and bullying.

After this, in the month of March, the first 7 songs were removed from YouTube, 4 songs were from Masoom Sharma. After this, the songs of artists like Narendra Bhagana, Ankit Balyan, Amit Saini Rohtakia, Sumit Parta, Gajendra Phogat, Harsh, Sandhu and Raj Mawar were also banned.

After this action, innocent Sharma came live on his social media account on 13 March. He said that now he has also given up count how many songs have been removed.
