Punjab’s social worker and Public Interest Petitioner Dr. Panditrao Dharenwar said in the letter that an affidavit should be taken from the organizers by August 20 that no songs will be played on the stage which negatively impact the society. He warned that if the administration does not take steps in this direction, he would file a contempt petition in the court.
Dr. Dharenwar, citing the notice of the Punjab Women’s Commission, said that the notice had been sent by the Commission to Honey Singh earlier. His song “Milineer” was insulted by women, but Honey Singh has not yet appeared before the commission. Such songs hurt the dignity of women and spread wrong messages in the society.

Objection to songs promoting intoxication and pornography Dr. Dharenwar says that many songs of Honey Singh such as four bottles Vodka, Manali Trans, Breakup Party, One Bottle Down, Main Drunk, Maniyak, Makhana and Milneer have shown alcoholism, intoxication and pornography. Such songs take the youth on the wrong path and promote crime and intoxication in the society.
Dr. Dharenwar, in his letter, cited the decision of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in which orders were issued on his own PIL. The court had clearly stated that the songs that encourage alcohol, intoxication and violence have a negative effect on the thinking of children and youth.
Also, the court had also directed that the Director General of Police of Punjab, Haryana and Union Territory Chandigarh should ensure that such songs are not sung in any live show.
District administration sought affidavit from program organizers Dr. Dharenwar has told the administration that a written affidavit should be taken from the program organizers that no song will be presented on the stage in which intoxication, alcohol, arms violence or obscenity should be promoted. He also said that he should also be given to this affidavit so that if any order is contempt in future, legal action can be taken.
