Suchitra Krishnamurthy, who has worked with Shah Rukh Khan in a film like ‘Kabhi Yes Kabhi Na’, now avoids talking about this film. During the conversation, she said that she wants freedom from her debut film and marriage questions.

What is ‘Vande Mataram’ for you?

Vande Mataram is Freedom for me. This song brought a new revolution. It was written by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay in 1870. Which has inspired many generations and promoted the freedom movement. Whenever I used to listen to the version of Vande Mataram, I used to think that there is such a beautiful word, why are people singing it so aggressive. I have introduced it in a different way so that we are always standing in the field of war.

When did you think to present Vande Mataram in a different way?

He was thinking for many years, but was late due to some reason. When it started preparing for it, the music was suggested to Arranger Rohan that it was done around January 26, but I had to release it on August 15, keeping it in mind. We started preparations for this and released on August 14, a day before Independence Day, on our YouTube channel.

You have been associated with the music industry for a long time, what changes do you see now?

I recorded and composed this song myself. Music video is also made by itself. I released it on my own channel. I did not depend on any music company. My own copyright. Further, if I remove 10 version of it, then I do not need to take permission from anyone. This has been the biggest change. The biggest thing is that music companies do not pay money. I thought why not release on my platform.

You are the actress as well as a singer, composer, writer and painter, what is the most close to the heart?

All of my heart is close. I am a creative artist. I do everything with full passion. I have written a book ‘Drama Queen’. Played on it. I have been singing since childhood At that time a lot of plays were made. Writing and painting books started after the daughter was born. At that time I had stopped working and lived at home. I did not like it sitting empty at home. Then I started writing a blog and painting.

Who was inspired for acting while you were singing in childhood?

Everything started suddenly. Modeling offers started getting. After that I worked in Doordarshan’s show ‘Challenging’. After that offers from South films started coming. Many people feel that I am from Chennai or Hyderabad. My mother tongue is Telugu, so people feel like this, but my birth is from Mumbai. I am here for the whole life.
