Yash Raj Films casting director Shanu Sharma is suddenly engulfed in controversies. After ‘Mirzapur’ fame actress Isha Talwar, now another actor has criticized her audition methods. After Isha, actor Bijou Thangjam, who has worked in the film ‘Mary Kom’, has shared his first audition experience with Shanu. Bijou, while replying to Isha’s comment, wrote that he was asked to do a scene in front of a cafe in Mumbai.

In Reply, Bijo writes- ‘My first audition was with him, Bomkesh Bakshi. I could not speak Hindi properly, confidence was also less, but expected to give my best. And just like your experience, I was asked to perform a scene just in front of Yari Road Bru World Cafe.

He further said, ‘I refused to audition. A few days later, his assistant called me for auditions in the studio. But by then I had signed Mary Kom.

What is the complete controversy related to Shanu Sharma?

Recently, Shanu gave an exclusive interview to Anupama Chopra for The Hollywood Reporter India, in which she was seen talking on Anit’s casting process. Later, Shanu also posted this interview on his Instagram. On the same post, ‘Mirzapur’ fame actress Isha Talwar expressed displeasure while sharing the audition experience. The actress told how Shanu and her team had taken her audition, due to which her confidence was completely broken.

He wrote- ‘When I started auditioning Shanu for the role, I was asked to do a scene at Mia Kuchina Restaurant in Versova, Mumbai. A crying scene in the middle of a busy restaurant, in which the customers were eating food next to my table. I was told that I should not hesitate as an actor and so I should do a crying scene sitting in front of Shanu and some of his assistants. It was a very confusing and strange demand. It badly broke my confidence as a young girl in films. I could not understand why a senior casting director had to pass a young girl from this situation.

Isha further wrote- ‘It would have been appropriate to give a good casting office place to audition to the actor. If you want to work on real location, then take the place on rent, pay it and audition. Well, after a decade, I am keeping this story to tell all the new waist not to feel any pressure. I remember that I said that I could not do this work and of course I never got the role. But at least I did not kneel in front of this strange demand and did not cry in restaurants for any role.

Talking about the workfront of actor Bijou Thangjam, he has worked in films besides ‘Mary Kom’, ‘Shiva’, ‘Jagga Jasoos’, ‘Paltan’, ‘Happy Phir Bhaag Jayegi’, ‘Vodka Diarys’, ‘III Smoking Bairals’, ‘Penalty’ and ‘Rocket’ and ‘Rocket’. At the same time, talking about the web series, ‘The Test case’, ‘typewriter’, ‘Cancer’, ‘Flesh’, ‘Love J Action’, ‘1962: The War in the Hills’ and ‘Aspirant’ have appeared in the web series. Bijou was also part of the reality cooking competition ‘MasterShef India 2’.
