‘Jolly LLB 3’ will be released on 19 September 2025.

A Pune court has sent a notice to Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi regarding their upcoming film ‘Jolly LLB 3’.

According to the news of News18, this notice was issued after the complaint of lawyer Wajid Khan Bidkar. Bidkar has claimed that the film has been mocked by the legal system and court proceedings.

In his petition, Bidkar said that the Jolly LLB 3 shows the legal profession in a derogatory manner and insults the film court.

Bidkar also objected to a scene of the film, in which the judges are called ‘Mamu’.

The court has asked Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi to appear on September 28.

‘Jolly LLB’ was released in 2013 and its sequel came in 2017.

Complaint against the film earlier

This is not the first complaint against ‘Jolly LLB 3’. Earlier, the film was also stuck in a legal controversy. Chandrabhan Rathore, president of Ajmer District Bar Association, filed a case against the film.

However, in June 2025, the case filed against the film in Ajmer was rejected by the Rajasthan High Court.

The court had ordered that no claim could follow the apprehensions. The film is still under construction, in such a situation, to say that an attempt is being made to tarnish the image of judges and lawyers in the film. This is only apprehension.

‘Jolly LLB 3’ stars Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Saurabh Shukla, in the lead roles. The director of the film is Subhash Kapoor.

The court had said that the content of the film cannot be made public before release under the Cinematography Act-1952. If there is an objection to any scene of the film, then there is a provision of complaint and appeal in the censor board against it.

In fact, Chandrabhan Rathore, president of Ajmer District Bar Association, had alleged about the film that an attempt is being made to tarnish the image of judges and lawyers from the film. Earlier too, the image of the judiciary was tarnished in two parts of this film. In such a situation, the shooting of the film should be banned.

Actor Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi and film director Subhash Kapoor filed a revision petition against it.

On behalf of Akshay Kumar, Senior Advocate RK Aggarwal and his team advocated.

Court does not have the right to investigate before the censor board Arguing on behalf of Akshay Kumar and others in the High Court, Senior Advocate RK Aggarwal had said that the Censor Board has the right to investigate the scenes of the film. If anyone has objections to the film certified film from the censor board, then there is a provision of revision and appeal in the Cinematography Act.

He had said that it is not right to stop the shooting of a film and to investigate a film by the court. In such a situation, the claim filed in Ajmer court should be rejected.

At the same time, it was said by the Bar Association that we are talking about the dignity of the judiciary. The image of the judiciary was tarnished in the last 2 parts of this film. Therefore, our demand is that a committee of judges and lawyers should be constituted and given the scenes and other information of this film to them.
