Punjab Comedy King Jaswinder Bhalla will be cremated in Mohali today (23 August). Bhalla died of brain stroke at the age of 65 yesterday, Friday. He was born on 4 May 1960 in Doraha, a small town in Ludhiana. His father Bahadur Si

He did his early studies from Doraha. After this, he got higher education from Punjab Agriculture University (PAU) in Ludhiana. From PAU, he earned BSC (Agriculture) Honors in 1982 and MSC (Extension Education) in 1985. He later did PHD from Meerut University.

He then also worked as an inspector in the Agriculture Department, but in 1989 he got the lecturer job in the Extension Education Department in the same PAU, where he himself had studied himself. During this time he was also active in Punjabi music and films.

He retired from PAU secretly. Actually, he was service -free in the year 2020, at that time there was a lockdown due to Corona. Because of this, his farewell party could not be done.

Bhalle-Bale pair started in 1988 Jaswinder Bhalla’s comedy started from college time. Earlier, he used to do comedy in the programs to be held in the college only on 15 August and 26 January. In 1988, he started his most popular comedy series Chhankata with his friends Bal Mukund Sharma and Neelu Sharma.

However, he has a friendship with Bal Mukund in 1977. Both of them gathered and also did comedy. The pair of Bhalle (Jaswinder Bhalla) and Bale (Balmukund) from the Chhankata serial reached the hearts of the people. His character was liked by uncle Chatra people so much that instead of his real name, he used to call him uncle Chatra.

Be it police systems or leaders, everyone used to satire Jaswinder Bhalla and his colleagues formed 27 audio-video albums of Comedy series Chhankata. In 2009, Chhankata’s last show Mithe Poche was released. This was the time when cassette, VCR and CD were in their last days. At that time there was a big change in IT. In this 27 albums, he did not leave police, government systems and leaders. Satire and also gave social messages on everyone.

After 10 years uncle Chatra landed on the small screen Uncle Chatra was reaching his fans only to the medium of cassettes for 10 years. In 1998, Jaswinder Bhalla made his film debut. At that time, only films related to fighting, ground quarrels etc. were made in the Punjabi industry. In such a situation, Jaswinder Bhalla did the first film Dulla Bhatti. The timing and style of his dialogue in Serious films also used to lick the serious audience.

After this, Jaswinder Lalla worked in many superhit films like Mahul, Chakk De Futta, Carrie On Jatta, Daddy Cool-Munde Phool, Jatt & Juliet, Sardar Ji. Most of them were comedy films. His comic timing and different style made him the most popular comedian of Punjabi cinema.
