Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan later producers- director Karan Johar has also filed a petition in the Delhi High Court seeking not to use their photos, voice and other personal symbols without their permission.
According to news agency PTI, Karan Johar has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court to protect personality rights. He has demanded people to stop selling goods illegally in his name. Karan Johar has demanded his identity and security rights to protect the Delhi High Court on Monday.
This petition by Karan Johar has come before Justice Manmeet PS Arora to hear, who has sought some clarification from his lawyer. Karan Johar has also requested the court to pass an order to instruct some websites and platforms not to make illegal sales of other goods including Mug and T-shirts containing their names and photographs.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan have also got relief from the Delhi High Court in this case. The court has banned online platforms on the use of their names, photos and voice without the permission of the actor. Along with this, the use of photographs generated from AI of Abhishek has also been banned.
Actor Jackie Shroff also reached court in May this year before Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan. He had alleged that his image and video were being changed without permission. At that time, the court also secured his personality and publicity rights.
In the year 2023, the court prohibited the misuse of Anil Kapoor’s image, voice and his Jhakas catchfrays. At the same time, Amitabh Bachchan’s personality and publicity rights were also protected in November 2022.
