Mashuhar singer-rapers Badshah is trapped in legal trouble for the payment of his hit song ‘Bavla’. Karnal’s Unis Infoselations Private Limited Company has accused the emperor that he did not get full payment even after completing the song work and release.

The Commercial Court of Karnal, while hearing the company’s petition, has secured the FDR (fixed deposit) of already deposited Rs 1.70 crore.

Now in the latest order on August 16, the emperor has been asked to deposit an additional FDR of Rs 50 lakh in the court. So that the company’s dues remain safe and the emperor does not escape from payment by withdrawing money from the bank or selling property.

How did the matter begin? The root of the dispute between the company and the emperor is an agreement on 30 June 2021. At that time both sides signed an agreement, whose tile was- producer and line producer work for Higher Agreement-Bawla. According to the terms of the agreement, Badshah had to pay Rs 1.05 crore for the promotion of the song ‘Bavla’ and Rs 65 lakh for making a video of the song. The company says that they completed all the work on time and the song was also released on YouTube and other digital platforms on 28 July 2021.

The company also sent a copy of the in-vouse and agreement on 13 December 2023. After this, on 15 April 2024, the company sent a second demand letter and this time demanded Rs 2.82 crore. Still the emperor did not make any payment.

Petition filed in Karnal court Finally, the company sent a notice on 11 June 2024 and asked to start a legal process like Panchayat) under Claus-12 of the agreement. The company then filed a petition in the Commercial Court of Karnal on 4 November 2024.

What happened in court? The Unis Company demanded the court that until the process of arbitration begins, the money from the king’s property and bank account should be secured. The company expressed fear that if this did not happen, the emperor would not give them anything by withdrawing money or selling property.

After this, the court ordered on 13 November 2024 that the emperor should present the list of his properties in the court. After this, the emperor presented a copy of his bank FDR on 7 May, which had a deposit of Rs 1.70 crore. The court immediately ordered that this FDR be secured and the emperors can neither cash nor use it in any other work.

To deposit additional FDR of 50 lakhs Order Now the court of Judge Jasbir Singh Kundu ordered on August 16 that the emperor will have to deposit an additional FDR of Rs 50 lakh within 60 days. This FDR will also be safe as the FDR of the earlier 1.70 crore. Both FDRs cannot be cash without the permission of the court. If the emperor does not deposit the FDR on time, then legal action will be taken against him.
