Capcom has announced its latest game, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, blending action and resource management. This was revealed during the Summer Game Fest on June 7, 2024. The game will be released on July 19, 2024, and will be available on multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC via Steam, and through Xbox Game Pass on launch day.
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is set in a beautifully crafted world inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics. Players will control Soh, a swordsman with a mission to protect his village from the Seethe, a malevolent force. During the day, players must cleanse the village of corruption and rescue villagers. At night, they must defend the village and the Maiden Yoshiro from waves of Seethe. The gameplay mixes action and strategy, requiring players to make quick decisions and coordinate with villagers to fend off the threats.
The game features a unique mechanic where, if Soh’s health is depleted, he enters a “Spirit State.” In this state, Soh cannot fight but can command villagers to protect Yoshiro. This adds a layer of strategy, as players must manage resources and plan their defenses carefully to succeed.
