Actor Anshuman Pushkar, who has worked in projects like ‘Jamtara’, ’12th Fail’, has made revelations about casting process in the industry. In a recent interview, the actor has told how social media followers are taken into consideration during casting. He has also lost roles in films due to low followers.

Talking to news agency IANS, Anshuman says that he had lost a film due to low followers on social media. The casting of actors like them is limited to social media followers. He says- ‘However, I do not take all these things personally. If a producer or director is giving preference for more followers than talent, then it is their choice. This does not mean that the actors who were not chosen have less talent.

When Anshuman was asked in the interview whether the actor must be active on social media more than acting skills? Answering the question, he further says- ‘You cannot compare yourself with Ranbir Kapoor. He already has a lot of fans. Casting of actors like us is limited to Instagram followers only. However, I do not complain about this. This is part of the system.
