A day before Friendship Day, on August 2, filmmakers Imtiaz Ali and Mahavir Jain announced a new film. The name of the film is ‘Side Heroes’. For the first time in this film, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana and Varun Sharma will be seen together.
The story of the film will be a light and emotional, which is of three childhood friends. Years later all three meet in a reunion. The story begins from here, where they find the real meaning of life again through friendship, dreams, love and memories.
Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana and Varun Sharma are known for their comic timing. The makers say that the onscreen chemistry of these three will make the audience laugh a lot.

Sanjay Tripathi will direct the film
‘Side Heroes’ will be directed by Sanjay Tripathi. Its story is written by Siddharth Sen and Pankaj Matta. The film is produced by Imtiaz Ali, Mahavir Jain, Mrigdeep Singh Lamba and Reean Shah. At the same time, the film will be presented in association with Laika Productions and Mahavir Jain Films, Window seat Films.

Imtiaz Ali is known for romantic films like Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal and Rockstar.
The shooting of the film will start soon. It can be released on 2026 Friendship Day.
Let us know that in April 2024, Imtiaz Ali’s film Amar Singh was released on Netflix. It played the lead roles by Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra. Its music AR Rahman gave it.
At the same time, Imtiaz is also making a period love story which will feature Diljit, Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina and Sharawari. The film may be released on the occasion of Friendship Day in 2026.
