Music composer Dabboo Malik has recently spoken about the depression and family tension of his son Amal Malik.
Amal had said to be under depression in March 2025. Now in a conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, his father Dabboo Malik has reacted to the whole matter.
Dabboo Malik admitted that he could not fully understand Amal’s feelings. They said,
I accepted. I went to Amal and I told him that perhaps I had made such a mistake in knowing and unknowingly. I have ignored you and some an aspects can happen inside the life because it can also be a mistake from the parents whether they focus on the same child or pay attention to the same man, understand that they are our flashlight bearer, sometimes we have made these mistakes at the personal emotional level.
Israr Sardar alias Dabboo Malik is a music director, composer, singer and actor.
Dabboo also said that sometimes parents think that the elder child will understand themselves, but it does not happen. They said,
Amal understood when I said that I am also a child. I too was not yet worth becoming a father. I was also learning. When you were growing up and you are 34 years old, then 30 years ago I was also worthy of becoming a father, I did not even know, So when I could not understand that process, how did the son handle you? Or how would you understand you?
Dabboo Malik admitted that when parents themselves accept their mistakes, children get satisfaction.
Dabboo Malik told about the conversation with Amal,
Then we made a list of our things that there are such things that we slowly kept checking. I was with my son in 14–15 days and I was not silent in fear or pressed, but was listening to everything and accepting things.
Dabboo also said that it was a good thing to get out of Amal’s feelings.
It was good to get out of his anger because if it was in the house, then only things would have been happening and the matter would have been buried for years. It is good that this thing came out and he was able to say his pain openly.
Dabboo Malik is the brother of music director Anu Malik and Abu Malik.
Dabboo Malik also said in a funny manner,
I am telling him, thank you very much, you made Dabboo Malik a star. People did not know earlier whether I am your father or there is some ruckus. Now I have become a social media star, Amal Malik’s father!
What did Amal Malik say? In March 2025, Amal Malik wrote a long and passionate post on social media saying that he was struggling with depression and has decided to end his personal relationship with his parents and younger brother Armaan Malik.
Amal Malik is the elder son of Dabboo Malik.
Amal wrote,
I am no longer in a position to bear the pain that I endured for years. I was made feeling inferior, while I tried to give a safe life by shedding my blood and sweat.
Amal had said that now he will have only professional relationships with his own family. He had said that this decision has been taken from the need to fix themselves and get back your life, not in anger.
