Actor Ashish Dixit, who is seen in the TV show Pati Brahmachari, quit an engineering job to make a career in acting. He made her TV debut with the show Bal Gopal Kare Dhamaal. Till now he has appeared in many TV shows. In a conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, he told what challenges he faced to get into acting. Apart from this, she also talked about her husband Brahmachari show.

The name of your show is husband Brahmachari. What is its concept? What was the reaction when I heard about it for the first time?

First I got a call from the makers and then a meeting was fixed. When he reached the meeting, I came to know that the hero of the show is Brahmachari. My first reaction was that if the lead character is Brahmachari, then he will not touch the girls and the original of TV shows is romance, close moments and mother-in-law drama. Then how will all this happen in it?

However, then I thought that there is enough romance and the same old stories. Some should do something different, something different. Till that time, the title of the show ‘husband Brahmachari’ was not finalized, but there was a question in the mind that if he would be a husband, he will do something. At least the demand will be filled.

Then the makers told that in some places the MP and UP are rituals to fill the demand from the coins, then we will show the same concept. Anyway, there is no show in the history of TV in which the main lead is celibate. It was a new experiment in itself. Then I thought that the makers should trust and try something new. In this way I said yes to the show.

In your view, what will be the USP of this show, which is different from the rest?

Yes, the story of this show is its biggest USP. I can say on Danke’s injury that nowadays many shows go on well for 10-12 episodes, but then marriage, romance and mother-in-law drama starts. There is also a mother-in-law drama here, but it is shown in a very realistic way. Like after marriage, the girl comes home and the hero wants that she should not stay here, go. There is a story of hate, not love here. However, even if there is a moment of love between the two, it is filmed only after taking care of the dignity of being celibate. Apart from this, many veteran artists are working in this serial, which further enhances its specialty.

How much does your character match with the real person in ‘husband Brahmachari’?

I shifted to Mumbai at a very young age and lived in a small chawl in Thane. The atmosphere of that time and the experience of living in Chawl is an important part of my childhood. The method of sports and routine was also quite different. All these experiences help in playing my character.

The most important thing about my character Suraj is that he respects girls and does not say anything to anyone without reason. Even in real life, I do not say anything until anyone talks to me. I believe that the one above is watching and if you do wrong with someone, then it also gets the result. So I treat people properly and with respect.

So far, there has been a character in the career in which you are so lost that it has become difficult to get out of it?

When I was new in this industry, it used to happen many times that it was difficult to get out of the character. I remember when I was working in the shade of Dangal Channel’s show Palak, my character was quite naughty and romantic. Many times it happens that even after coming home after the shoot, I used to be behaved in the same manner. Then my wife used to say jokingly, just just do it, get out of the character.

However, now I have experienced that balance. Now I know very well when to become a ‘sun’ and when back ‘Ashish’. Now I try to leave my character on the set, so that I can live my real life completely at home.

Studied engineering and then also worked. But then suddenly left a day. The reason was to go to acting. What was the reaction of the family at that time?

Since childhood, I used to stay in studies. Used to pay much attention to anything else. But when I went to Nagpur to study engineering, for the first time I realized that there is something more special inside me. With studies, I started participating in many college activities. From there, I came to know the world of glamor for the first time, and gradually it started increasing interest in it.

However, I preferred studies first. Meanwhile, the Indian Navy was also prepared, but the number could not be done due to the number of number in 12th. After this, after completing his studies, a job was found in a small IT firm in Pune. But while working, realized that this is not the thing that gives me true happiness. Then one day it came that I quit my job. When I came home, Papa asked how many days has come out? I said that he did not take leave, left the job. He was a little angry and said that he left the job of 25 thousand? At that time I did not increase the matter much and the bus kept quiet.

Meanwhile, some of my friends were doing theater. I started going with him and from there the interest in acting went deepening. Friends supported a lot and my acting career started from here. Initially the family was worried, but he never stopped. He always said that son, whatever you do, be happy. And today when they see me on screen, they are very happy.

When and how did you get the first break?

While I was taking acting training from my guru, I came to know for the first time that there are also small projects like One Day to Day. Then I understood that I should go to the set and see how the work actually happens. At the same time, I got a call and said that there is a day shoot, you will get two and a half thousand rupees, what to do? I thought wow, what could be evil in it, two and a half thousand in a day, I immediately said yes. I also misled a show by Balaji Telefilms. At that time I received five thousand rupees for that episode.

After this, I did similar small projects for some time. Then I got the first break in the show named ‘Bal Gopal’. It was a cameo roll, but the character was good and during that time I learned a lot. When my shoot was over, I would go to the director and sit and see how the rest of the artists are performing. In this way I learned a lot from the on-set experience.

Would you like to tell about some of your upcoming projects?

Yes, I have an upcoming web series named ‘Parakh’. We have shot this series in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. Many magnificent artists will be seen in this project and its story is also quite interesting.

This web series is made in Amazon and Collabing of Mini TV. Post-production work is currently underway and its trailer will be released soon. I am very excited about this project and hope that the audience will definitely like it.
