Urmila Bhatt was born on 1 November 1933 in Dehradun, Ghulam. He was deeply interested in acting since childhood. This was the reason that he started acting by joining the drama theater. After some time she joined Rajkot’s Sangeet Kala Academy as a dancer and singer.

He came to him and said- you will play a small role in my film. When Urmila was already associated with theater and Gujarati film industry, she also agreed quickly. In this way he got the first Hindi film Hamraj, which was released in 1967.
The film featured Rajkumar, Sunil Dutt, Mumtaz in important roles. Due to the small role of a few seconds of the first film, Urmila started getting offers from many Hindi films.
Her second Hindi film was 1968 struggle, in which she got the role of Dilip Kumar’s sister. Dilip Kumar was a star at that time. As soon as Urmila came to know that she had to shoot the scene with Dilip Saheb, she became nervous. In such a situation, Dilip Kumar came to him and said, don’t panic. After this he started practicing with him.

As soon as Ramanand Sagar’s eyes fell on Urmila, he kept looking at him for two minutes and then quickly said- Queen Sunaina was found. The people around could not understand anything. Ramanand Sagar then said to Urmila, will you play the role of King Janak’s wife and mother Sita’s mother Sunaina in my show.
Urmila also immediately agreed without losing time. Let us tell you that in this show, Arun Govil played Ram and Deepika Chikhalia played the role of Mata Sita. It is the world’s most running TV show, which has 77 million viewerships. It was the most expensive TV show in the 80s, on which about 9 lakh rupees were spent on an episode.
Apart from Ramayana, Urmila also made a good identity by working in Rajshree Production TV serial Paying Guest, Shyam Benegal’s show Bharat Ek Khoj and GTV show G Horror Show. He also gave voice to Mowgli’s mother Chameli in TV’s popular animated show The Jungle Book.

Urmila was active in films till 1995. Then with the changing era, he almost stopped getting work in films. After which she was lost in family life. The whole family reached home after hearing the news of Urmila’s murder. When the police started the investigation, it was revealed that every valuable item of the house is missing. According to Urmila’s postmortem report, she was badly assaulted. He had marks of being tied with a rope in his hands and feet. His throat was cut with a sharp weapon.
According to the report, he had struggled to escape for several minutes. Due to which he had died on the night of 22 February. However, his body was found several hours later in the afternoon of 23 February the next day. Investigation also revealed that the back door of the bungalow was open.
The Mumbai Police formed a special investigation team led by Inspector Satyapal Singh to investigate the murder. A case was registered against the unknown on sections related to looting and murder. Long investigation was done, but even after months the police remained empty. Today 28 years have passed since Urmila’s murder, but the murder of her murder could never be solved.
