Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan recently explained how she got married to Salma Khan and also explained why beef was never eaten in her house.
Recently, in a conversation with ‘Free Press Journal’, Salim Khan said, “We have not eaten beef from Indore till date. Most Muslim beef eats because it is cheap meat. Some people also buy beef to feed dogs, but Prophet Mohammad has clearly said that cow’s milk is an option of mother’s milk and it is not a sure (beneficial) thing.

Salim Khan has been a part of screenwriting pair Salim-Javed. He has written blockbuster films like ‘Sholay’, ‘Zanjeer’ and ‘Wall’.
Salim Khan further said, “Prophet Mohammed has adopted good things of every religion. Just as eating only halal meat, which was taken from the Jews and which they call Kosher. He said that every religion believes in good things and believes in a Supreme power, like we do.”
How did Salim and Salma get married?
Salim Khan said, “I have always lived a life among Hindus. We used to celebrate Hindu festivals even in police stations and colonies because everyone was from soldiers to head constables. So it was not that we started keeping Ganpati in the house only after my marriage.”
Salim Khan said that his family had no objection to his marriage to Salma alias Sushila. Salma also had no problem. However, a member of Salma’s family had some objection because I was from another religion.
Salim said, “My father -in -law, who belonged to the Dogra community and was a dentist, examined my family background and respected that I am from a good family and I am good in writing. However, he clearly said that his only objection in my marriage is my religion. I assured him that if we ever debate or differences, we will never have a reason for religion.
Salim Khan also said that both Hindu and Muslim customs were played in marriage.
He told, “My wife loved seven rounds and she saw her sister and cousin taking rounds. So I found a Pandit and got a round in my area.”

Salim also said, “We also have a marriage, which ensures that marriage is not happening under pressure or compulsion.”
Please tell that Salim Khan had two marriages. The first was from Sushila Charak, from whom her four children are Salman, Arbaaz, Sohail and Alvira. Later in 1981, she married actress Helen and adopted a daughter Arpita.
