The shooting of Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan starrer film ‘Husband Wife and Woh 2’ is going on in Prayagraj, UP. Meanwhile, a video of the set has gone viral, in which some local youths are seen beating a crew member. This assault is reportedly done by the film’s production head Joheb Solapurwala. Now an FIR has also been registered in the Civil Lines Police Station in this case. At the same time, the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has strongly condemned the attack and demanded immediate action.
An FIR was lodged against Meraj Ali and others who recorded and posted the video at the Civil Lines Police Station on Friday, which have not been identified yet. Line producer Saurabh Tiwari has lodged an FIR regarding the incident. Talking to the media on the whole matter, Saurabh said, ‘Mumbai’s team was shooting in civil lines, when someone tried to capture the film on camera. The crew member objected to this and shouted at the person, after which two-three people broke on him and slapped the team member.
On the whole matter, City DCP Abhishek Bharti said, ‘The shooting team has been given a police team for security. On August 28, a police team was present to control traffic, but some boys made a video from their mobiles, causing a fight. FIR has been registered under Section 191 (2) 115 (2) 352 351 (2) 351 (3) and Section 66 of the IT Act 2008 regarding this incident.
At the same time, the All India Cine Works Association has objected to this whole incident and has asked questions to the UP government. Aicwa issued a press statement saying-
If the Uttar Pradesh government cannot provide security to the people associated with film production, then what is the purpose of promoting Noida Film City as a shooting hub? When the government fails to ensure security, how can the producers, filmmakers, actors and technicians shoot their lives by shooting in Uttar Pradesh? The unfortunate incident in the presence of Bollywood superstars Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan highlights the lack of proper security arrangements for film shooting in the state. Such attacks are not only embarrassing, but also create serious concerns about the safety of Indian film industry employees.
In his statement he writes further-
Prayagraj is known for the historic Kumbh Mela around the world, which is a symbol of the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of India. But such incidents tarnish the image of the city on the global stage. Instead of being remembered for peace, faith and culture, Prayagraj is now making headlines for anarchy and attacks on film actors. Such incidents should never happen in such a city with such global importance. The incident directly questions the law and order of Uttar Pradesh and creates fear in the minds of filmmakers and artists wishing to shoot in the state. If such big superstars of Bollywood are not safe on the set, how can the common crew members and employees feel safe during shooting?
