What is the controversy related to the film Punjab 95, read

‘Punjab 95’ has been stuck with the Censor Board (CBFC) since December 2022. The censor board directed to make 127 cuts in the film, including removal of the word ‘Punjab’ under the title, repeatedly spoken in the film to ‘police’, and change the name of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

The film’s production team and director Honey Trehan refused to implement these cuts. He says that the film is based on truth and respects the bravery of a great hero like Jaswant Singh Khala. According to the director, the real heart and story of the film will change after so many cuts. He even said that if these cuts are forcefully installed, he will remove his name from the film.

The censor board asked for 127 cuts

In December 2022, the censor board asked to put 127 cuts before approved the film. The team approached the tribunal and court with these objections. Meanwhile, Paramjit Kaur Khalda, wife of Jaswant Singh Khala, also made a statement in favor of the film and said that the film is made with the permission of his family and there is nothing wrong in it. The director and the team say that they will release this film based on historical facts without cuts.

Diljit’s post increased enthusiasm again

Diljit Dosanjh shared a scene of the film on his Instagram account, in which he is seen in the role of Jaswant Singh Khalda. Since this post, the fans have been excited again about the release of the film and are asking questions on social media, ‘When will this film be released?’

The film’s team clearly says that the film reflects the bravery of Jaswant Singh Khala, in which he lost his life for justice. In such a situation, his soul cannot be harmed by applying cuts from the film.
