The film Udaipur files were scheduled to release on July 12.
The Delhi High Court has stayed the release of schedule film Udaipur files for release on July 12. The producer of the film reached the Supreme Court in this case. Advocate Gaurav Bhatia, who is leading the producers of the film, told the Supreme Court judge that the film was to be released on July 12. All theaters have been booked for this, all the theater owners are waiting. The Supreme Court has listed this case. The case will be heard soon.
On the petition, Justice Suryakant asked- ‘The release has been banned?’ Advocate Gaurav Bhatia argued, ‘The film was to be released on July 11. The order was passed to stop the release at 8 pm a day earlier.
Justice Suryakant asked if the film was allowed to be released. On this, Gaurav Bhatia said that the censor board has passed the film. We have a certificate and all the cinema books.
When asked what is the film is based on the true incident which is still going on. On this, Gaurav Bhatia said that Udaipur files are the film in which a person’s head was made. I must say with full responsibility that this is a matter of fundamental rights. The Supreme Court refused to hear. But the Delhi High Court intervened and banned the release.
After understanding the case, the Supreme Court has ordered the case to be listed. On this, Advocate Bhatia appealed to hear the case on yesterday i.e. July 15, but the court ordered him to hear on Wednesday or any other day.

What is the whole matter?
The film Udaipur files were to be released on July 12. The film is made on Taylor Kanhaiya Lal, who was murdered by people from Muslim community in Udaipur. 11 accused of murder are in jail and the trial continues. The film was surrounded by controversies after the film Udaipur files were released. Mohammad Javed, the 8th accused in the Kanhaiyalal murder case, had filed a petition in the Supreme Court to stop the film release.
In the petition, Mohammad Javed demanded a ban on the release of the film until the hearing of the case was completed and argued that its release would violate his right to fair trial. This petition was rejected by the Supreme Court.
Apart from the murder accused Mohammad Javed, Maulana Arshad Madni, president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind and Principal of Darul Uloom Deoband, filed a petition demanding a ban on the film release in the Delhi High Court, saying that the film has dialogues and scenes in the film, which could erupt communal violence.
On 11 July, Justice D.K. of Delhi High Court The bench of Upadhyay and Justice Anish Dayal, while hearing 3 petitions including Maulana Arshad Madni, President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, imposed an interim ban on the release of the film. The makers have now filed a petition in the Supreme Court on this matter.
Why is the film in controversies?
The film is produced on Taylor Kanhaiyalal of Udaipur, Udaipur, who was brutally strangled by Mohammad Riyaz Attari and Gaus Mohammad on 28 June 2022. Kanhaiyalal shared an anti -Islam post on social media, after which he was killed. In this case, the NIA had presented a challan against 11 accused Mohsin, Asif, Mohammad Mohsin, Wasim Ali, Farhad Mohammad Sheikh alias Babla, Mohammad Javed, Muslim Mohammed, including the main accused Gaus Mohammad and Mohammad Riyaz Attari, residents of Karachi, Pakistan.
Connection of murder was related to Pakistan
After the incident on 28 June, Rajasthan Police arrested the main accused Riyaz Attari and Gaus Mohammad from Rajsamand district. On 29 June 2022, the NIA took an inquiry into its hand and considered it a terrorist incident and registered a case under the illegal activities Act. The NIA arrested a total of 9 accused.
These include Mohammad Javed, Farhad Mohammad alias Babla, Mohsin, Asif, Mohammad Mohsin, Vasil Ali and Muslim Mohammed. Two other accused Salman and Abu Ibrahim were reported from Karachi, Pakistan. Those who are absconding. On 22 December 2022, the NIA filed a charge sheet against 11 accused. Which includes allegations under murder, criminal conspiracy, religious sentiments and UAPAs.
Demand to stop the film’s release in Varanasi too
In this case, the secretary of Anjuman Intejamia Masajid, City Mufti Maulana Abdul Baatin Nomani, has written a letter to the DM and Police Commissioner in Varanasi demanding a ban on the release of the film in Varanasi.
