Vivek Agnihotri’s film The Bengal files are already involved in controversies before release. Multiplex owners in some states have refused to show it. Meanwhile, producer and actress Pallavi Joshi has written a letter to President Draupadi Murmu, in which she has demanded to protect her constitutional rights.

Pallavi Joshi said, I am writing this letter for safety, not helping you with a heavy heart. The last part of The Bengal files is releasing on 5 September. The film tells the story of the Hindu massacre of the Direct Action Day, the terrible events of Noakhali and the partition of India, which have been buried for a long time. But the truth has been surrounded in West Bengal. Many years before the completion of the film, the Chief Minister made fun of it. Since then, baseless FIR was registered, our trailer was blocked by the police and even advertisements are not being published in the newspaper.

My family is being threatened by political party workers every day. Now theater owners have told that they are being threatened, scared, and they are refusing to show it, as they are afraid of violence by the party’s party workers. There is no official ban, yet an informal ban silences the film before reaching people.

Pallavi further wrote, Padma Bhushan has already written a letter to the famous famous actor Victor Banerjee and many Bengali institutions from India and abroad. He supports him that people are still standing with the truth. The Bengal files are the voice of Maa Bharti, who is injured but not broken. This is a story that shows pain, struggle and hope.

You are a woman who has traveled to the biggest position in the country by facing many difficulties. So you can understand the best of how pain is converted into strength.

This film is made to show the truth. But the truth also needs security. The President, I am not asking for any special facility for the film, just want to speak art, truth and the soul of mother Bharti without fear. You are my last hope. Please protect our constitutional rights and allow The Bengal files to be allowed to show them peacefully in West Bengal

Let me tell you, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher and Darshan Kumar are playing important roles in The Bengal files. The film, introduced by Tej Narayan Aggarwal and IM Buddha Productions, is part of Vivek’s files Triology, including The Kashmir files and The Tashkent Files. The film will be released in theaters on 5 September 2025.
