After the death of Karishma Kapoor’s ex -husband Sanjay Kapoor, a controversy over her property has started. Rani Kapoor writes in her letter-
I am the wife of Dr. Rani Kapoor, former president of the company and the late Dr. Surinder Kapoor, founder of Sona Group and Founder of Sona Group. According to the will created by my late husband on 30.06.2015, I am the only beneficiary of his property and also the majority shareholder of the gold group including the company. As you know, on 12.06.2025, my son Mr. Sanjay Kapoor passed away in a sad and vague conditions in the United Kingdom. Despite receiving the information, I have not been able to find any relevant answers and documents about the incident. And I am limited to the information and version given by the media. Please note that during this period of mourning, I was contacted several times and forced to sign various documents without giving any clarification or without giving them time to understand. Despite being under excessive mental and emotional stress, I was forced to sign such documents behind the closed doors and despite repeated requests, I was never told the subject matter of these documents. Please also note that I have been completely denied access to my bank accounts and I have been left to the mercy of a few people to live. All this happened in less than a month after the death of my only son.
Talking to the media on this whole issue, Rani Kapoor’s lawyer Vaibhav Gaggar said, ‘Rani Kapoor is the head of Kapoor, Kapoor family and Sona Group. During the shock of the death of his only son, some incidents happened which led to some apprehensions not only for Rani Kapoor ji, but also about the legacy. Many such incidents occurred after death which cannot be considered normal.
In his letter to the shareholders of Sona Commentar, he wrote that some documents were signed and pressurized for some things. A lot is coming out at this time. She wants to go to the depth of the case, and she is not yet known the exact cause of death. It did not seem to be a natural death at all. He has his own fears behind what happened.
Please tell that businessman Sanjay Kapoor died in London on 12 June. He was 53 years old. Sona Comstetar said in an official statement that he died of a heart attack.

Sanjay got married three times and has three children. Her first married in 1996 fashion designer Nandita Mahatani and she lasted for four years. Both of them had no children. He then married Karisma Kapoor in the year 2003. They both have two children daughter Adhara and son Qian.
In 2014, Karisma and Sanjay applied for divorce by mutual consent. His divorce was finalized in 2016. After separation, Sanjay married Priya Sachdev in 2017. The couple has a son Azarius.
