After Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, now her husband and actor Abhishek Bachchan is also relieved from the Delhi High Court. The court has banned online platforms on the use of their names, photos and voice without the permission of the actor. Along with this, the use of photographs generated from AI of Abhishek has also been banned.
The case was heard by Justice Karia. During the hearing, he said that the court has visited the arguments and evidence presented by Abhishek Bachchan. At first sight, his point was very strong. In such a situation, they should be given unilateral interim relief, so that possible damage can be avoided.
Abhishek Bachchan filed a petition in the Delhi High Court on 10 September, Wednesday. In this, he requested the court to protect his publicity and personality rights (image and personality rights in public). Also, websites and online platforms should be prevented from using their image, parsona and fake videos, especially sexual content. Whereas earlier on Tuesday, his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also filed a petition in the Delhi High Court for personality rights.
Advocate Praveen Anand, who appeared on behalf of Abhishek Bachchan at the first hearing, told the court that many defendants are making fake videos and photos using AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology. These fake content also include Abhishek Bachchan’s name, photo and fake signature.
These celebs have personality rights
Actor Jackie Shroff also reached court in May this year before Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan. He had alleged that his image and video were being changed without permission. At that time, the court also secured his personality and publicity rights.
In the year 2023, the court prohibited the misuse of Anil Kapoor’s image, voice and his Jhakas catchfrays. At the same time, Amitabh Bachchan’s personality and publicity rights were also protected in November 2022.
