Jamie Lever, daughter and actress of comedian Johnny Lever, has shared her bad experience in the name of an audition.
Jamie said that he was asked to take off clothes on a video call.
The incident took place when Jamie had no manager and she herself was contacting for work. In an interview to Zoom, he told that his number had reached many casting agents.
One day he received a call. The caller described himself as the director of an international film. He said that he is taking auditions for a film and asked whether he has to be a part or not.
Jamie also worked in 2013 in Mahabali of Comedy Circus on Sony Entertainment Television.
Jamie told that such opportunities mean a lot to us, so I immediately said yes. Then the person told that the audition will be on video call. They have to talk to the director.
Jamie further said, “He said that he will not send the script, because he wants a little improidation in the audition.”
After some time Jamie received a link to the video meeting. As soon as he clicked on the link, his video turned on.
The person on the other side said that he is on a journey, so the video cannot be turned on.
Jamie has appeared in films like ‘Kis Kisk Kis Kis Kis Kis Kis Kis Karo’, ‘Housefull 4’, ‘Bhoot Police’.
Jamie was told by the person, “We are doing an international film and you are fit for this character, but there are some things we want to test.”
After this, Jamie was told that it is a bold character and he would not have to do comedy in it.
Jamie asked what they had to do? She told Jamie to think of a scene in which she is trying to woo a 50 -year -old man and then said that in the end the scene will be intimate.
Jamie replied, “I am not comfortable in such a scene. If there is a script, I will follow it.”
The person said, “There is no script. This is improvision. If you want to take off clothes, speak or do something, then you are free.”
Jamie also made his Telugu cinema debut in 2024.
Jamie said- I can’t strip
As soon as Jamie heard the word ‘strip’, he became suspicious. He said, “Strip? Nobody told me anything about it. I am not comfortable doing this.”
The person told Jamie, “This is a big project. We really want to cast you. This is a great chance for you.”
Jamie said,
If you are asking me to strip this call, I cannot do this and I was not even told about it. I now feel uncomfortable talking to you.
He then cut the video immediately. After cutting the call, Jamie understood that it could have been a big scam.
Jamie further said,
I realized that if I had done anything innocence, they could have made a video of it. Could blackmail me, bother.
Jamie also said that it was good that she understood in time and she came out of this call.
Jamie said that the most shocking thing was that despite knowing that she is the daughter of Johnny Lever, the man tried to trap her.
