Karthik Aryan is scheduled to attend the freedom celebrations in Houston on 15 August, which is organizing a Pakistani company. The film Federation objected to this since the announcement. After FWICE, AICWA (All India Cine Workers Association) has also strongly condemned it. Whereas Karthik has already issued a statement and clarified the matter.
The association has released a statement for Karthik Aryan, which states- ‘It has come to our notice that on 15 August 2025, Houston, Houston, Texas, is being organized in Texas, a program called “Azadi Utsav- The Celebration of Freedom”, hosted by the hosting Aga Restaurant and Catering. It is a Pakistan-based institution, which is from Shankat Maradia. Surprisingly, this program is being organized jointly in the name of celebrating Independence Day of both India and Pakistan.

Further it is written, ‘Karthik, you are not just a superstar, you are representative of India’s younger generation, its culture and its pride. This country has given you everything, name, fame, wealth and unnecessary love. In such a situation, watching you associated with a program which is organized by the country which has been continuously supporting terrorism in India, is not only disappointing for every Indian, but also a heartbreaking heart.
Have you forgotten that barbaric terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, where the Pakistan-respected terrorists brutally killed 26 innocent Indian travelers in front of their families by asking their religion? Have the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, Pulwama sacrifices and countless other terrorist attacks have been erased from your mind so easily?
The post of the association further states, ‘Karthik, have you ever thought that our brave Indian soldiers, who are posted on the border to protect the country from Pakistan, will feel when they will see that you are going to perform in the program organized by the same country, whose purpose is to destroy India? Those soldiers who put on their lives every day so that you can remain independent, is there any cost to their sacrifice? Their feelings will not forgive you. 1.4 billion citizens of India will not stand with you if you betrayed some dollars and the soil of your country for the foreign platform.
Strict response to Karthik’s team cleaning
The association has said in a statement released by Karthik’s team amidst controversies, “Your team has issued a statement saying that you did not know about the Pakistani background of Aga Restaurant, but it is very difficult to assume that without the permission of an artist like you, official posters with your face should be publicly publicized. Such “ignoring” is not acceptable in any way for your level artist. ‘
‘No foreign currency can be valuable with the lives of those who have sacrificed to protect your country. Please do not follow the path of artists like Diljit Dosanjh, who put personal benefits above patriotism.
‘We listened to the cleanliness of your team, but given the promotion of this program, it is necessary that you clearly declare separately from it. We request you to immediately withdraw your participation from the “Azadi Utsav” program and take a pledge in public that you will not cooperate with any Pakistan-respected program, production house or financial in future.
This is a matter of national security of India. The country is watching. This is the moment when you have to decide, will you stand with India, or with its enemies? ‘
