Filmmaker Mohit Suri recently said that he was developing ‘Aashiqui 3’ himself, but was excluded from it due to a bad strike rate.
In a YouTube conversation with Shubhankar Mishra, Suri said that he wanted to direct Aashiqui 3, but the studio decided that he would move forward without him. He said, “He did not wait for me to fine-tune the script. It is true that he judged me on the basis of recent flop films. Even my own family, who were involved in the decision, were not ready to wait. I don’t blame them, it is a business, but I did not want to prove them wrong.”
Mohit also spoke openly on mental pressure. He said, “When you are low, do not listen to anyone, otherwise you will fall down. After working for twenty years, when the film flopped, I am afraid that a good time has been left behind. People had already started saying so.”
Mohit Suri admitted that the real path ran after the box office hit. He said, “In a villain 2 I was just a box ticking, making a sequel, remixing songs, casting many leads. I wanted to repeat the opening of 16 crores, but was making a film for the wrong reason. The result is in front of everyone.”
Mohit Suri said that he does not regret even after losing ‘Aashiqui 3’ and ‘Avarpana 2’. He said, “How can I make Aashiqui without Aditya and Shraddha? The first film did not take a big opening, but gradually became a Cult. Today projects are being made with brand names. I don’t think I fit that place now.”
Currently, this project is being directed by Anurag Basu. Karthik Aryan and Sreeleela will be seen in it. However, the film has not yet been officially named ‘Aashiqui 3’.
