After ‘The Kashmir Files’, producer Abhishek Aggarwal’s film ‘The Bengal Files’ is in a lot of controversy. Especially this film is being strongly opposed in West Bengal. Despite this, the film is releasing on 5 September. Recently, Abhishek Aggarwal had a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar about this film. The producer said that now there is a habit of threats, but we are not afraid to show the truth. Here is some special part of the conversation with Abhishek Aggarwal ..
You come from the business background, then how did you think of coming to the film industry? What was the reaction of the family?
I am from the Marwari family, where no one was connected to this field. I first made my debut with a Telugu film ‘Gonacharya’, then made ‘Crack Party’ with Nikhil. At the same time, the idea of making a film on Kalam Saheb came and started coming and going to Mumbai. At the same time, I met director Vivek Agnihotri. Our thinking about Kashmir was the same and due to this coordination, ‘The Kashmir files’ became.

Vivek Agnihotri faces protests and threats due to his films. Did something like this happen to you too?
The release of ‘The Kashmir Files’ or now ‘The Bengal Files’, you must have seen what kind of bottlenecks occur. Now all this has become a habit. Yes, the householders are definitely worried, especially my mother, who used to call me every hour during the film. Vivek ji himself is a very bold person like we all know, be it Kashmir files or Tashkent, he had completely thrown himself. We are not afraid to show the truth. And if someone feels we are showing wrong, then who has stopped the truth again?
Some critics say that you only support films that create cracks in society. What would you say on this?
Does show the pain of their own brothers to the society? Nobody wants to talk about the suffering of Kashmiris. If we are doing it, we are being justified. I was not even a part of this industry, I have been working only 5-6 years. Why were these issues silent till now? Perhaps God gave me the task that I should bring the truth to everyone.
You are also criticized by the film industry. It is said that ‘Kashmir files’ earned, but what did you do for Kashmiri Pandits?
I do not want to say much on such questions. If I speak, there are many people who have earned from ‘Dangal’ and all political or sports films. Everyone only sees earnings, but no one sees the risk of making a film. If a film is damaged, or who is in danger of the family, who stands together at that time?
The audience is keen on ‘India House’ and the film being made on Kalam Saheb. What are their updates?
‘India House’ has been shot about 35% and its shooting will be completed in 3-4 months. Research was being done on this for the last 3 years, so it took time. At the same time, we have announced the film being made on Kalam ji at the ‘Cannes’ film festival and plan to release it by 2026. My dream was to bring Kalam ji to the global platform and I am happy that I have been able to do it.

You have made Sanatan -based hit films like ‘Karthikeya 2’ and ‘Maha avatar Narasimha’. Will more films come on Sanatan?
I can go to any extent for the country and religion. This is in my heart and mind. With ‘Karthikeya 2’ I tried to convey the same message to the people that these are not just mythology, but the true stories of our ancestors. Our research team is working on next films, they will be announced soon.
What did you get the best completion on your films so far?
Before the release of ‘Kashmir Files’, a video conference was being talked to Kashmiri Pandits. A Delhi girl involved in the same conference came to my Hyderabad office while asking my address. I was going out, he grabbed my hand and said that I have just come to speak thank you. She kept crying continuously for 10 minutes and said that you showed the pain that you showed. You have done the work of applying ointment. At that moment I felt that I helped them to bring out the buried tears of those people. This is my biggest success. That day I could sleep all night.

What was the biggest challenge ever in your film career?
The biggest challenge was to convince the family members that I want to enter the film industry. He initially opposed a lot, as I had seen a bad phase. Before ‘Kashmir Files’ I produced a film, it flopped. I was broken. Then my younger son encouraged me and after a week ‘Kashmir files’ came into my life.
What about ‘The Bengal files’?
I would just say that you should maintain love. If we have made a mistake, then forgive it. Our aim is just to show the truth, nothing except that.
