Actress Pooja Banerjee, who was in the headlines recently, has revealed shocking when she broke her first marriage due to allegations of kidnapping. The actress has told that on the first evening of marriage, she realized the mistake. After this, while getting married, actor Kunal entered her life and she left the first husband and married Kunal. The actress has also told that her ex -husband’s affair was with her friend’s girlfriend.
In an interview to Siddharth Kanan, Pooja Banerjee spoke to Kunal and spoke to marrying Kunal. He said, when I got married, ‘I was 18 years old. Then I ran away from home and married. When I got married, I realized that it was a mistake, because it was completely overturned. The person I knew from whom I loved, for which I left my parents and left everything, he was exactly the opposite as I thought about him. At that time I could not understand. I did not want to go back home, because I made my parents feel bad. I could not understand what to do if I do. ‘
Further actress Pooja Banerjee has told that when she met Kunal, her married life was such as two strangers are just living together under one roof. The actress said, ‘We were not alive for each other. If I used to come to the house, he did not even see me. ‘
At the time when Pooja Banerjee worked with Kunal in TV show, she was living with her husband. He and co-star Kunal had a friendship in the set itself. She left her husband after some time and then married Kunal.
The actress has also told that while staying at the wedding, her husband’s affair was running with a friend’s girlfriend. After divorce, he has also married his girlfriend.
A complaint of kidnapping has been filed against the couple
A case has been registered against actress Pooja Banerjee and her husband Kunal Verma in Goa. Both have been accused that they kidnapped Bengali film producer Shyam Sundar Dey and recovered Rs 23 lakh. Pooja and Kunal came in front of the media about the matter and gave their clarification and dismissed the allegations. Pooja said that her mental balance deteriorated due to this incident.
Pooja said,
We have known Shyam Sundar Day for 3 to 4 years. He told me that he is buying rights of 16 films from someone. Then he will sell them to a TV channel. The total price of this deal was around Rs 2.25 crore, hoping to earn about Rs 3.85 crore. He told me that if I can convince someone to invest, I will give me 50 lakh rupees.
Pooja further said,
I tried a little, but I never promised that I would give them money. I did not even have money for myself. Still they started pressurizing me. He said that he is constantly harassing him by calling him. Due to this stress, I started borrowing money from friends and family. Kunal also sought help from his acquaintances. Together we were able to arrange more than one crore rupees. During this, Arjun Bijlani also helped us.
Pooja- We returned money by taking a loan Pooja and Kunal said that they had decided that they would return the money borrowed under any circumstances. For this, he took a loan by mortgaging the property of Kunal’s parents and returned the money to everyone.
When Shyam Sundar came to know about the loan, he said that the amount of loan should be deposited in the account of his production house ‘Shadow Films’, so that it seems that it was done under the deal.
Pooja told,
We had promised to give Rs 1.25 crore, but overall we transferred Rs 1.68 crore. When it came to return the money, Shyam stopped picking up the call and did not refuse but started making excuses. After this, it has been several days, after which we came to know about some of the friends of the Kolkata film industry, and it came to know that he is undergoing a SEBI case and he has also gone to jail in 2020.
Then on 23 May, Pooja gave a written complaint at Bandra Nagar Police Station, but she asked the police not to take immediate action.
Pooja told,
I wanted to talk face to face to Shyam first. On May 31, both of us reached Goa. Our friend Piyush Kothari was also there, but he has nothing to do with this case. He is like a family for me. We went to Goa with Shyam. He assured us that he would return the money. He booked a villa and asked us to stay there. I had to return to Mumbai for an ad shoot. Kunal also returned as the atmosphere had become very negative.
The next day of this meeting, Pooja and Kunal were accused of kidnapping. On this, the actress said-
I got scared. Cry on the set for the first time. The shooting had to stop. I was worried about Kunal. I talked to the Mumbai Police to register an FIR. On the other hand, the Goa police questioned Shyam, but he could not answer. The next day I also went to Goa. The police listened to us and understood that we are innocent, so we were allowed to go.
Pooja said that the matter affected both her career and family. At the same time, in the press conference, Kunal said that the screenshots posted by Shyam’s wife on social media were his number. After this, he started receiving calls and threats continuously.
Kunal said, “People are abusing me. There is a small child in our house. When he grows up, he will see all this.”
Actress Pooja Banerjee married Kunal Verma, the co-star of her serial ‘Tujh Sang Preet Laga Sajna’ in 2020.

The complaint was lodged by Shyam’s wife Malbika on 12 June at the Panache police station in Kolkata. Later, an FIR was registered at Kalangut police station by transferring the case to Goa.

According to the Times of India, the FIR included several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including kidnapping, illegal recovery, injury and threats. Shyam and Malbika were invited by the Goa Police on 2 July for questioning in this case.
Shyam alleges in the case that he was forcibly closed in a villa in Goa from 1 to 4 June. He told that he was beaten up by Kunal and some unknown people, snatching mobile and ₹ 64 lakh. When he could not pay the money, he was transferred to 23 lakh rupees. During this time, pressure of signing of property papers was also made on them.
Pooja, while reacting to these allegations in the Instagram post, wrote that she is going through a difficult time and believes in God. At the same time, Kunal Verma said that only one side has emerged in the media, and he will soon present his side.
