The Screen Association Awards 2025 was held in Mumbai on 9 August. The sixth edition of the award has announced the names of Winners in a separate category for the 2024 films, web series and TV shows. Imtiaz Ali’s musical biopic film ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ has won the category of films. The film has won the award in four categories.
At the same time, actor -turned -writer Kunal Khemu has received the award for his film ‘Madgaon Express’ for the first time. In addition, Nikhil Advani’s historical drama ‘Freedom at Midnight’ achieved success in the web section. Also, ‘Raat Jawan Hai’ writer Khyati Anand-Putharan also won. The Best Debut Award was shared between three nominees.
The Screen Association Awards 2025 for the Best Debut film ‘Girls Will Be Girls’, Biplab Goswami and Sneha Desai for ‘Missing Ladies’, and Bodhayan Roy Chaudhary received the award for ‘Sector 36’.
Imtiaz Ali and Sajid Ali have been awarded the Best Story, Best Screenplay for the film Chamkila. Irshad Kamil has received the Best Lyrics Award for this film. Kunal Khemu received Best Dialogue for Madgaon Express, Abhinandan Gupta received Best Story (Web Drama) for ‘Freedom at Midnight’ and Best Screen Play (Web Drama) Abhinandan Gupta, Advatiya Karg Das, Gundeep Kaur and Revanta Sarabhai.
Sajid Ali, who was present at the ceremony, accepted the honor and said, ‘Imtiaz could not come here because he is preparing to come here next year too! But thank you, getting this award from SWA fraternity makes it even more special. ‘
When Irshad Kamil was called on stage to take the award, the lyricist took a pinch and said, “Tonight proved to be a lot of things, including one thing which I always believed in I am my own competition.” He further said- ‘It is not easy for a writer to write. They have a complete universe in their soul, which they call to write. It was difficult for me to understand how to write bright. I am very happy that I received this award for ‘Baja’.

In the sixth edition of the Screen Association Awards, the films, series and TV shows of 2024 were honored in the presence of the biggest name in the industry. All 15 categories had more than 1,500 entry and they were judged by 15 prestigious screen writers included in the jury for more than seven months.
