Punjabi singers Karan Aajal and Yo Yo Honey Singh have been called by the Women’s Commission today.

The Punjab Women’s Commission has started an investigation on the songs of Bollywood and Punjabi singers Honey Singh and Karan Aujla. The Commission says that their songs harm women’s honor. For this reason, both have been called before the commission on today i.e. August 11.

Commission chairperson Raj Lali Gill said that both of them will be asked the reason for singing such songs and such songs will not be allowed in future. Also, it is expected that the police report will also come today.

Commission chairperson herself heard songs Punjab Women’s Commission chairperson Raj Lali Gill said that she herself heard the songs of Honey Singh and Karan Aujla on social media. After this, the Commission initiated strict action in this matter.

The Commission has written to the police that Honey Singh’s song ‘Millionaire’ has used objectionable language against women. At the same time, Karan Aujla’s song ‘MF Gabru’ also used improper words for women, which is completely wrong.

The Women’s Commission has ordered the DGP that the Punjab Police of Chandigarh should be instructed to investigate the matter and take strict action. The police will also report the action taken against both the singers to the Commission today.

Both singers have been in dispute earlier also

  • Karan Aujla dispute (December 2024)- During his show in Chandigarh, there were allegations of promoting liquor in songs. The matter reached the High Court, after which the police intervened during the show and stopped them from singing such songs.
  • Yo Yo Honey Singh Controversy (March 2025)- On March 23, BJP objected to his show in Chandigarh on March 23. The party had written a letter to the administrator saying that on this day Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were hanged, and such programs could have a wrong effect on the youth. Government can do action If any state government feels that the songs of any singers are having a wrong effect on the society or it can spoil the atmosphere, then it can ban those songs. Apart from this, action is also taken on promoting gun culture in Punjabi songs.
