Naveen ji first tell something about your childhood?

I have grown up in a joint family. My father was a teacher of Math in a small town Town Ouukpo in Nigeria. My birth is there. Father lived there for 5 years and returned to Delhi Lajpat Nagar when I was 10-11 months old. I did engineering from MPA College, Delhi.

How did you experience experience during studies?

To school, very good marks came. Mummy is also a teacher. There was a pressure from both parents in the school. So there was very good education till school, but did a little less studies in college. Only passing marks used to come in engineering. Papa’s attitude towards studies is now seen in the preparation of my acting. They keep reading my script and recommend rehearsal and remember lines. He himself reads my script.

Recently, which script did the parents read and what was their feedback?

This sequence has started from ‘Aspirant’ season One. It was Kovid’s time at that time, I went to Delhi. Then some lines were practiced with Papa. When I was breathing the web series, I was practicing lines on the phone with Papa. Rehearsal of each scene of ‘Aspirant Season Two’ was done several times with parents. Its shoot is always in Delhi. Parents were together in Mumbai at the time of Pichrs 2. False also rehearsed with him.

Parents also have some suggestions after reading the script?

Parents suggest that whatever is being used. Do not refuse it. Because any director makes his project very thoughtfully.

How did the trend towards acting?

There was a big fan of films during school. ‘Aankhe’ and ‘Baazigar’ have been seen many times. Seeing ‘Baazigar’, it was felt how good Shah Rukh Khan has done. When I started getting bored in college, I tried to do theater in Delhi. I also made a drama of my own. Apart from this, I made ‘Kaun Banega Saupati’ of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’.

Amitabh Bachchan was made in it. Made ‘Logan’ of ‘Lagaan’. When he started working, it seemed that this is a very important decision. There was also a fear of how to start. Parents were very difficult to understand. He was very afraid of him at that time.

When did Mumbai come and celebrate parents?

There were many quarrels, but I convinced Papa. Mumbai May 2008 came with an engineering job. I came to Mumbai thinking that I would make films, but did not know how to start. In the company, I was stopped at the Hotel Retreat in Mud Island. My senior experiences were Narang. I became friends with him and I came to know that he was a roommate actor.

I did not tell anyone what I have come to do. One day his roommate met Vishal with experience. He was recognized on seeing him as he worked in the film ‘Lakshya’. Got a lot of information from them. He gave many production houses numbers.

How did the first break?

Mahesh Bhatt’s office went to special films. At that time, the film ‘Jashn’ film was planning. There I met Hasnain S Hyderabadwala, director of the film. Seeing my CV, he was very impressed, he felt that he was very educated. The truth was that I was selling my studies at that time.

I started with the celebration as Assistant Director. A lot was learned during the shooting of this film. After this film, there was a little gap, then after that Diwakar Banerjee’s film ‘Love Sex Aur Chaat’ got work as an assistant director. His film ‘Shanghai’ also had a cameo with Assistant. After that advertising started doing films.

Leaving a good engineering job, you became Assistant Director, ever faced economic problems?

Came in 2008 and the bank was corrupted by 2009. There was no Ayyashi as before. Then there was a great need for money. I have also taken money from my sister and parents. Papa was a little sad from inside. People with me were working in America. He used to think that lifestyle could be better.

Your dream was to become a director, then how did you come completely in acting?

Amit V was Masurkar Making Director in ‘Love Sex and Cheat’. I became friends with them. I wanted to make my film. Amit was preparing for his film. We often used to discus ideas from each other. We both wrote a show ‘Sach Ka Saamana’ for television together.

Amit wrote a scene in which two writers are in the book shop. Their focus is on girls more than books. Amit told that he wants to make a film on this thinking. Asked to play the character of a boy.

Amit knew that I keep auditioning Ed. He also used to tell me that you have a actor quality. He wrote that scene on both of us. As a writer, both of us were banging. The film ‘Sulemani worm’ was born from here.

However, he had a different struggle to make this film. There was time to start the film, but the hero was starting to imagine itself. Then there was a chance to play a small role in ‘Shanghai’. Worked in ‘Shanghai’ on Amit’s suggestion. Yes, you can say that because of ‘Sulemani worm’, he became an actor who came into my life with luck.

It took a long time for ‘Sulemani worm’ to be built and released. Then in 2015, TVF Pickens proved to be the turning point of your career?

Sulemani waited for a long time for the release of the worm. It was released two and a half years after the film was completed. Good reviews of the film came. Our film received a 3 star rating. While a big film was released at the same time.

He found a star. My film was well liked. This led to my encouragement. Because of this film, I got a chance to work in TVF pitchers. It was here that I started on OTT.
