Advocate Sandeep Sethi told the court that a company named Aishwarya Nation Wealth put a picture of an actress on letterhead and described her as chairperson. He said, “My client has no idea of this. This is completely fraud.”

These celebs have personality rights

Actor Jackie Shroff also reached court in May this year before Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan. He had alleged that his image and video were being changed without permission. At that time, the court also secured his personality and publicity rights.

In the year 2023, the court stopped the misuse of Anil Kapoor’s image, voice and his “Jhakas” catchfrays. At the same time, Amitabh Bachchan’s personality and publicity rights were also protected in November 2022.

This case can now prove to be an important example of celebrities’ privacy and publicity rights in the digital age. In the next hearing of the court, it will be clear whether the court will immediately pass any interim order.
