Angered by actor Kamal Haasan’s statement on Sanatan, TV actor T. Ravichandran threatened to cut his throat. On the complaint of former IPS officer AG Maurya, CCB (Central Crime Branch) lodged an FIR against T. Ravichandran on the complaint of former IPS officer AG Maurya, causing him to get into trouble. Now the actor has reached Madras High Court for anticipatory bail. His petition will be heard on 20 August.
On this bail plea, on August 18, Justice G. Jayachandran of Madras High Court ordered the government lawyer to obtain instructions from CCB till 20 August. In the hearing on Monday, T. Ravichandran said that in the YouTube interview, he unknowingly commented on Kamal Haasan. He had no intention of threatening the actor. He has also assured to accept every condition in the petition and not make such a mistake further.
What is the whole matter?
Actor Kamal Haasan recently attended the celebrations of the 15th anniversary of the actor Surya’s Agaram Foundation. During this, he spoke on the importance of education and said that education is such a weapon, from which the fetters of Sanatan Dharma can be broken. After his statement came out, actor T. Ravichandran had said in an interview that if Kamal Haasan gives a statement against Sanatan, he will cut his throat.
After the interview surfaced, MNM (Makkal Nidhi Mayyam, whose founder is Kamal Haasan) vice -president and retired IPS officer AG Maurya filed a complaint against T. Ravichandran on August 10 with the Greater Chennai Commissioner of Police. His complaint was transferred to CCB, after which an FIR was lodged against T. Ravichandran.
