Haryanvi singers have been throwing mud on each other about the ban on songs. In this, questions are also being raised on the role of people close to the ruling party. Amid these controversies, Haryana Chief Minister Naib Saini’s promotion OSD and Haryanvi singer Gajendra Phogat have denied their role behind the ban.

Phogat says that on the orders of Punjab and Haryana High Court, the Haryana government has taken action to ban the songs. He expresses concern that rural culture is ending in Haryanvi songs. Things have changed to go viral. While narrating an anecdote of his life, Phogat said that he had sung the song ‘Pakistan Ki Chori’, on which he was threatened to kill him.

It also said that family members did not like my singing in childhood. They always used to say that singing would not make a career. Even while dying the father, I wished to leave the song, but I did not leave.

He also claimed that I am the first rapper in Haryana. Dainik Bhaskar In a conversation with, Gajendra Phogat spoke on various topics including the beginning of his singing, his own struggle, changing culture of Haryanvi songs.

Question: How was the journey from village to the world of glamor? When was the first time I became a name? answer: Born in the village and studied in the city. After 12th, my love for singing kept growing. When I graduated and came to MA, I stepped into the glamor world. In 1999, I became the winner in India’s first reality show. The show was shot in Mumbai and aired from there. My journey from village to glamor was between 1977 to 1999. In 2006-2007, I had an album, which had a song “Pani Aankhyan Ka”. This song was on the tongue of every class including almost every young, elderly. This song was well liked. Then I felt that now I became a name.

Question: Your song ‘Bam Lahiri’ associated with Lord Shiva has been trending on Instagram for almost 6 years. What is the story behind this song? answer: This song of mine lives in trading on every festival, it is very much liked in normal days. This song was written by a company for an hour. I wrote in a single day in the studio and sang the same day. He also shot him in Rohtak on a single day. The song was produced by more than 50 people. When it was shot, there were more than 100 artists in it. This song is composed on Jangam Jogi.

Question: Some people say that nowadays realism is disappearing from Haryanvi music, what do you think? answer: Not only Haryanvi music, but the music of all over India is coming out of realism. Old songs had dignity of words, emotions were valued. In the new era, there are such songs that only the meaning of words is not known.

Question: Is today’s Haryanvi music representing rural culture or has everything changed just to go viral? answer: In today’s songs, rural culture is being represented very rarely. There are very few songs in which it does not appear. Rural culture has one thing of its own, which does not promote gun culture and other stimulating things in any way.

Question: Trains, guns and brands are being used very much in Haryanvi songs, what is the thinking behind it? answer: Culture changes. This trend that is in Bollywood, in South Side, Punjab has been in Punjab for many years, now it has also come in Haryana. South Indian movie shows how much fighting, while it should not happen.

Question: According to you, what is the lack of Haryanvi Music in becoming a mainstream like Punjabi Music? answer: Punjab combines its music with its religion. He calls his language Gurbani. Whereas, we do not have both these concepts here. We neither associate Haryanvi with religion nor do we speak our dialect to the gurus. The third reason is that the industry is not developing here. There are many reasons for this. The first reason is that my time generation is not very educated. Dancing songs in Haryana are not considered very good.

Second, conservative thought streams still have an impact. Due to which there is no dream of being a successful singer in families. I myself have to scold my parents a lot. The third reason is a lack of technicians here. Everyone here is learning and learning is very few. The fourth reason is our Haryanvi dialect not getting language status.

Question: Have you ever been trolled on social media with a song or lyrics? How did you deal with? answer: Not about any one song. One of my songs is ‘Pakistan Ki Chori’ I was very trolled in it. Pakistan received threats to kill him. To deal with this, I extended more shows of that song. Live shows done. This time also sang in Kurukshetra on Geeta Jayanti.

Question: Did there ever come when I felt that now I should leave music as an artist? answer: This was the chance many times. Whenever in my 10th, in 12th, college number came down in college, father always used to have the same taunt that you are doing this song and worship, not all this is happening. Even if there was an injury outside, there was anger on singing. This sarcasm became my inspiration.

On this, a lion remembered, ‘Thank you for hurting the injury, thank you for making a stone fetish, if you do not come, who would make my stairs, thank you, thank you for coming in my paths, dry old wounds are found in the new wound, welcome to the new and the old and the old thank you. Question: Have you ever done something that has touched your heart? answer: A fan young man of mine came to Chandigarh to meet me on a bicycle from another state. He then came live and said that he had come to meet me, but could not. Then when I called him, he had reached Pundari in Kaithal. Then I went to special Kaithal to meet her. One my fan kept moving around with my sketch. After 2 months I caught him. One made a tattoo of my name. There are many such fans, from which I feel that I will not leave singing till death.

Question: You are associated with the Central Government’s TB -free India campaign. Rohtak PGI also made you the brand ambassador of the campaign related to Organ Transplant Awareness. How many satisfaction do you get? answer: We are preparing many types, showing shows to finish TB by 2025 from India. In addition, Rohtak PGI has made me a brand ambassador for organ donation, for that campaign we will organize a big program at the state level on August 3. My friend is, who called me to donate body on his birthday on 20 July. This is a matter of great pride for me.

When art becomes a medium to give a way to society, then it does not remain art, it becomes a practice. When art is done only for its benefit, it becomes a work. I believe that art may have its own market, art should not be market.

Question: Do you dream of having a singer or rapper as a singer? answer: I am also the first rapper in Haryana. Not at all as a rapper, but a desire to sing with my guru Gurdas Mann as a singer. Although I have sung with him many times, but still I will sing again.
