Filmmaker Pahlaj Nihalani recently recalled an old story. He told that there was a time when Madhuri Dixit refused to do the film with newly known Govinda in the industry.
Nihalani said that Madhuri was trying to establish her foot in the film industry at that time and her decision was taken due to her secretary Rikku Rakesh Nath.
Talking to Pinkvila, Nihalani said that he feels Rikku explained to Madhuri that working with Govinda would not be the right decision. This would have been the second film for Govinda.

Rikku Rakesh Nath was the manager of Madhuri Dixit for about three decades.
Nihalani also said, “I met Govinda through Rikku Rakesh Nath. I only advised Rikku to be made the manager of Madhuri Dixit.
Let me tell you that the name of that film was ‘Elajam’, which was rejected by Madhuri. He was replaced by Neelam Kothari, who achieved stardom after the film was successful.

Later Madhuri and Govinda worked together in films like ‘Mahasangram’, ‘Ijjatdar’ and ‘Sin’s end’.
Nihalani said, “I had replaced Madhuri with Neelam. I offered Madhuri second film ‘Aag Hi Aag’, but the films that Madhuri were doing, she used to stop. Then I also cast Neelam in ‘Aag Hi Aag’. After that there was also Neelam in the ‘Sin Ki Duniya’.”
Nihalani expressed displeasure over Madhuri rejecting films repeatedly. He said, “Whatever the film Madhuri used to bring, she used to reject. Rikku always used to make excuses. I responded to her in the interview. Madhuri’s films were either shut down or a flop was being declared, but all my films together were golden jubilee.”
