Prithviraj Sukumaran and director Blassi’s film ‘The Got Life’ did not recently received an award in any category at the National Film Award. Because of this, people are now raising questions about the National Film Award.
Amid the ongoing controversy over the film, director Blassi has given an interview to Onmanorama, in which he has expressed his disappointment. Also told that Ashutosh Gowariker, chairperson of the jury, compared ‘The Got Life’ to the 1962 film ‘Lawrence of Arabia’. Ashutosh had earlier praised the film, but now he is telling technical shortcomings in it. Blassi claimed that he spoke to Ashutosh on the film’s screening in Mumbai during the Oscar campaign. He had said a very good thing about the film.

The film is based on the novel of Benyamin.
He also remembered that Ashutosh compared ‘The Got Life’ to ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ and said that he has not seen any film showing the desert so beautifully. Blassi said, ‘If someone has already praised the film in such a detail, then how can they reject it on technical basis? It looks like a double standard. ‘ The filmmaker also claimed that he was invited for lunch with Ashutosh, which he refused for the commitment already made.
Please tell that Pradeep Nair, the only Malayali representative in the jury, also spoke to Onmanorama. She revealed in the interview that the film -directed film was actually in the award race, but she was left behind in the final discussion.

Blassi works in the Malayalam industry. He has received a National Film Award, 3 Filmfare and 9 Kerala State Film Award.
Regarding ‘The Got Life’, Pradeep Nair had told that the chairperson of the jury and filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker were concerned about the story and acting of the film directed by Blassi. Jury President Ashutosh Gowariker watched the film at the last film festival held in Goa and had serious concerns about the adoptation and execution of the film. He said, “Gowariker and others also felt that there is no natural in the adoptation and the performance also does not seem authentic.”
