Ravi Kishan’s real name is Ravindra Kishan Shukla. He was born on 17 July 1969 in Mumbai (then Bombay). His family is originally from Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Ravi spent a few days of his childhood in Mumbai and then the family went back to the village. He is the youngest of five siblings.
The economic condition of the house was weak. His childhood passed into an earthen house and many times the whole family also got food for one time with great difficulty. Even 12 people used to eat in a khichdi.

Ravi Kishan has told in many interviews that he used to steal from the temple in childhood. He used to go to Hanuman ji’s temple. There was more crowd on Saturday, people used to stick coins on tilak. He used to secretly take out one or two coins from there. Ravi used to steal money from his father’s milk shop.
Father beat up a lot due to acting hobby
Ravi Kishan was fond of acting since childhood. He used to play the role of mother Sita in Ramlila in the village and wore a saree of her mother for the role. Once his priest’s father saw him in the role of Sita, he hit a lot with a belt, which made his skin peel. After which the mother gave 500 rupees fearfully and told him that the son run away, otherwise it will be killed today. To save his life, he ran away from home and caught the train and reached Mumbai.
Ravi Kishan’s father was against his acting hobby, but later he was proud of his son when he became successful in films.
Ravi Kishan’s real test started after coming to Mumbai. Many studios continued to visit the films to get roles. Then he got the first film ‘Pitambar’ at the age of 17, which flopped. After this, he played small roles in films like ‘Aag Ka Hurf’, ‘Rani Aur Maharani’, ‘Wounded Dil’, ‘Borrow Ki Zindagi,’.
During the struggle, Ravi Kishan used to live in the same room with 12 people in Chawl.

Ravi Kishan got recognition from the film ‘Tere Naam’

Ravi Kishan had told how he got this film. Once he met director Satish Kaushik in Nitin Manmohan’s office. Satish Kaushik had said that he needs a boy who played the role of Pandit and became a fiance of Bhumika Chawla. Ravi Kishan agreed without delay. He had told that even when Satish Kaushik asked for a haircut, he immediately got ready. Ravi Kishan received the nomination of the National Award for ‘Tere Naam’.
The film ‘Tere Naam’ was released in 2003 and was directed by Satish Kaushik. The film featured Salman Khan and Bhumika Chawla in the lead roles.
Ravi Kishan had told about coming to Bhojpuri films that when he was offered a Bhojpuri film named ‘Saiyan Hamar’, in the beginning he felt who would watch the Bhojpuri film, because the Bhojpuri industry was almost closed at that time.
Then Ravi Kishan called his mother in the village and talked about the film. After which the mother had advised them to do the film, if no one sees it, then only the people of the village will see. Following the mother’s talk, she signed the film and the film became a big hit.
Ravi Kishan has done more than 750 films in Hindi, Bhojpuri, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada.
Ravi Kishan’s fate changed as soon as Bhojpuri industry entered the Bhojpuri industry. Films like ‘Saiyan Hamar’, ‘Banke Bihari MLA’ made him a big star. In 2008, he received the ‘Most Popular Actor’ Award in the ETV Bhojpuri Cinema Award.

After the incident, Ravi Kishan felt that everything was over now. Then he was advised by Sunil Shetty to recover by staying in water, after which he stayed in the water for 40 days and then recovered.

Ravi Kishan is the owner of 43 crore property
According to the affidavit filed in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Ravi Kishan has a total assets of about Rs 43 crore.
Ravi Kishan’s immovable properties are worth around Rs 27 crore, including flats in Mumbai and Pune, bungalow of Gorakhpur and ancestral home of village.
The value of Ravi Kishan’s movable properties is more than Rs 15 crore. He also has several luxury vehicles, including Toyota Innova, Fortuner, Mercedes, BMW and Jaguar.
Now Ravi Kishan will soon be seen in Ajay Devgan starrer film ‘Son of Sardar 2’. In this film, he will be seen in the role of Sardar on screen for the first time. The film will be released on 25 July 2025.
