South’s superstars Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth will once again be seen together on the big screen after 46 years. Kamal Haasan announced this during the Nexa Sima Awards 2025 held in Dubai. He said that this reunite should have already been done.
Kamal Haasan said, we had become one long ago, but chose to be separated because they used to give us half-half by distributing a biscuit. Both of us wanted one full biscuit and we got it and we enjoyed it. Now we are satisfied with half the biscuits and so we have come together.
On the competition with Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan said, “It is a big thing to get such opportunities.” We had already decided that we would remain like this and set an example. He has been like this and I have been the same. So even though this reunion business is surprised, we were not so surprised. It is just a pleasure that what should have happened long ago, it is happening now.
At present, Kamal Haasan did not give any information about the film. But recently, the OTTPlay report claimed that there was a conversation between Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth about a new action film. If everything goes well, then these two big stars of Tamil cinema will be seen together again after about 46 years. This upcoming film of Lokesh Kanagaraja will be made under the banner of Raj Kamal Films International. However, it has not yet been officially announced. Earlier, the two appeared together in the 1979 film and Alauddinam Alabhutha Vilakam.
