Pawan Singh publicly apologized as the dispute escalated. On 31 August, Pawan Singh wrote on Instagram, “My intention was not wrong, if Anjali ji feels bad then I apologize. We are artists and respect each other.”
In response, Anjali said, “Yes, she has accepted the mistake and I forgive.” After this, Anjali was pressurized to edit the story by Pawan Singh’s PR team. It was said that instead of “mistake”, only write “Thank you”.
Artist Association demands action
Amid the controversy, AICWA (All India Cine Workers Association) criticized Pawan Singh fiercely and demanded strict action against him. Apart from this, the association also demanded the Women’s Commission to take cognizance of the case.
Talking to Dainik Bhaskar, actress Anjali Raghav has said that at the time the incident happened, she was scared. He said, I felt at that time that some tag of my blouse is on the waist. I could not understand whether he did it intentionally or not. Also, there was his entire atmosphere, media, police, staff… all. I was afraid that there would be no untoward. Lucknow and Kanpur are such places where bullets go on in minutes. I was afraid that if nothing happened to me at that time, but those who were with me, they would have been done somewhere. At that time, I did not feel right that such to be taken. So I remained calm and came to Delhi and kept talking thoughtfully.
